A maroon 'Dubbel' with a malty and spicy fragrance, a mildly bitter flavour and a dry aftertaste. Her sweet scents of licorice and rock candy accompany her full taste of fruit and spices. This fiery flame has a spicy character but is mild to handle.

Tasted end 2007 when this brewery was still in the Netherlands. The name refers to a well-known cannon displayed in the city of Ghent. Off-white, medium thick, creamy head, colour a dark burgundy brown, misty. Aroma of caramel, candied dates, port wine, gin, elderberries, brambleberries, coffee grounds, bitter chocolate; soft fruity taste with mellow dark maltiness and medium carbonation, caramelly and nutty, lightly spicy accents, finishing in a slight roasted bitterness with a coffee hint, like a Scotch, accompanied by mild herbal hoppiness.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch nach getrockneten Früchten, Hefe, Karamell. Geschmack hefig, Karamell, Früchte, leicht gewürzig.

0,33L bottle, BB 06.2015. Pours dark ruby with light tan head. The head disappears quickly. Aroma: intense plums, dark fruits, caramel. Taste: sweetness, caramel, dark fruits, alcohol. Finish is fruity bitter with some tart. Overall: good beer, but a little bit too much carbo and rather too simple.

Bottle at the Gollem Bier and Eetcafe, Antwerp. Poured a dark brown colour wish a frothy off white head. The aroma is dry malt and yeast. The flavour is medium bitter, with malt, yeast and some nuts the watery, but slightly carbonated palate. A very refreshing beer.
