The Lantern is a bit of a metaphor for the fragile and sacred fire that we preserve to advance into the unknown. Beyond beer as a product of conviviality and pleasure, it is also the Lantern which will guide us in the first steps of nanobrewery. This dry and light IPA gives pride of place to American hops to develop a refreshing bitterness and a beautiful aromatic palette. Till 2017 brewed at Brasserie de Bastogne (Minne).

Keg at the Brewery tap, 08/12/18. Almost clear golden blonde with a decent off white cap. Nose is mellow citric peel, tangerine, straw, toasted malts. Taste comprises orange pith, toasted grains, melon, tangerine, lemon rind. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Decent session gear.

Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of grassy hop, orange, yeast and grapefruit. Taste has grassy herbal hop, yeast, orange, grapefruit and lots of co2. Not bad, like a french ipa.

Tap. Clear yellow. Topical fruit, juice, perfume. Body is medium, quite hoppy and bitter, with decent grass and flowers flavours. Still captures the simplicity of a pale ale. A bit drowned in carbonation. Dryish palate. Good.
