Layers - Imperial Stout 8% We aimed to make this one as viscous as possible, a huge blend of malts helped us get there. We then gave it six weeks maturation in tank to allow it all to meld together.

440ml can from Chez Sophie. Pours dark with comforting deep tan head. Aroma of burnt liquorice, toasty dark malts, espresso. Taste presents liquorice, nutty malts, burnt caramel, bitter dark chocolate, gentle espresso.. fairly smooth and a little slick on the palate, not too full on. Good stuff.

Can. Pours dark brown. Aroma is sweet, roast, malt, coffee. Flavor is sweet, roast, malt, coffee, some chocolate. Finish is sweet and roast. Overall: very good.

0,15l from tap at BXLBeerfest. black color, small coffee colored head. smells earthy, spices, soy sauce, vanilla, bit musty, tobacco, some off notes. ok smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of spices, earthy, vanilla, nutty notes, vanilla, light soy sauce. finishes with a light roasty bitterness and notes of vanilla, nuts and spices. decent one, smell was a bit off but taste is still ok 6, 4, 7, 3, 14

Sampled @ BXL Beerfest 2018. A dark very brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of coffee, mild dark roasted malt. Taste of sweet dark roasted malt, vanilla, cookies, okay.

At BXL festival, 2nd day. Black with tan head. Sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, very dense chocolatey. Quite sweet and bitter. Full body, soft and creamy mousse feel. Quite lovely. --- Beer merged from original tick of Layers Imperial Stout on 01 Sep 2018 at 20:45 - Score: 8
