This stout is simply not suitable for vegetarians. It contains oysters. Now, you won’t find one at the bottom of the glass, but you may get a touch of sweet minerality in the flavour that comes from the freshly shucked lads that get put in during brewing. Not a bad way to go, even for a bivalve.Delicate and toasty, it also has slightly bitter, fragrant twist, thanks to East Kent Goldings.

Thanks to JaBier for sharing. Pours dark brownish-black with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing. Roasty aroma of malt and coffee. Light, smooth body with flavors of bready malt, coffee and chocolate. The finish is malty with a hint of brine and hops left over. Decent overall.

33cl bottle. Dark brown colour, almost black with a medium formation of an off-white head with decent duration and medium lacework. Aroma is toasty and malty. Flavor is roasty, burnt wood with a final maybe salty... Carbonation is medium.

330 ml bottle. Nearly transluscent cola brown color topped by a thick rocky tan head. Rich chocolate malt nose hints at cola, vanilla and floral hops. Sweet milk chocolate malt flavor. Smooth and flavorful with earthy undertones. Nicely balanced by the Golding hops that appear in the finish. No oyster character is noticeable. Good, nonetheless.

330 ml bottle @ Cardinal. A black body with a small off-white head. Aroma is fruity and light roasty malt. Still a bit unusually but I enjoy this aroma a lot. Flavor is mild, soft smooth malt, light roasted, some burnt coffee and a mild bitterness. Medium body and moderate roasted aftertaste with some fruit. Nice and quite light, a bit unusually but difficult to put the finger on what it is. Well composed.

Flaske på Cardinal, delt med Egil: behagelig, klassisk stoutaroma og smak. Kan ikke si at jeg kjenner østersen (men det er like greit), kanskje bortsett fra et snev av salt.

On draught: As black as ink, firm creamy off-white head, light to moderate roasty-ashy nose with a slight sourish-fruity touch; light to moderate bitter and sourish flavour, very soft and creamy; dry bitter-fruity finish, toasted malt included. Good…

Bottle. Pitch black beer with a strong brown coloured head. The aroma is roasted to a degree, but not as much as expected. The flavour is more bitter with a slightly spiced and roasted finish. Overall a fairly average stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft (4,8%) at The Porterhouse in Dublin. Very dark brown, almost black, with a nice creamy beige head. Mild aroma of roaste malt with some hops and a hint of fruit and oysters. Sweet and bready with a nicely balanced bitterness. Quite mild and easy tro drink. Tasty! This was one of my favourites the last time I visited the Porterhouse (2007), but this time I was a bit disappointed. It’s still a nice beer, but we tasted it with the Plain Porter and Wrasslers XXXX Stout and I found the Oyster stout to be the weakest link. (2011-06-11)

Nitro-draught at The Wharf, Aalborg, as Dublin Bay Oyster, 4.8% ABV
Dark brown color, almost black, with creamy nitrogen head. Smooth texture with a dry mouthfeel. Less roasted malt and more liquorice than expected; some feeling of seaweed and salt, not fishy, a bit soapy; bitterness from the roasted malts.
Confusing, artificial, rather unpleasant.
