Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It hazy yellow/orange gold with a thick, frothy off-white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, foamy banana, wheat, honeyed cereal, hay, marmalade and nougat. The taste is initially bitter - sweet, quite soft, sticky, ripe banana, foamy banana candy, banana split, doughy bread, tangy orange marmalade, spice, hay and cereal with a dry, orangey finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Hides the abv very well for sure. Perhaps a touch sweet for my personal preference, but it comes together really well.

Bottle, 0.33l. Cloudy orange pour, half finger soapy white head, short lasting. Minimal lacing on the glass. Nice on the nose, bready, grainy, strong ripe banana notes, slightly herbal background. Medium body, average carbonation. Soft and chewy mouthfeel and texture, thick, refreshingly fizzy. Very nice on the palate. Sweet taste with subtle sour touches. Aroma of bread, ripe banana, cloves. Grains, herbs, mild spicy. Bubblegum, yeast, wheat. Lingering alcohol in the background, subtle, nicely warming. Medium lasting finish, sweet, fruity, touch of alcohol dryness. Well balanced and tasty weizenbock.

330 ml bottle. Hazy vibrant orange, big fluffy head. A lot of banana and clove, juniper, butter cookies, very yeasty and wheaty, citrus. Mild dryness, some sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry finish, alcohol very well hidden. Really great Weizenbock, very easy to drink, very balanced!

16 September 2020. At Draft & Dreams, Bologna. Shared with the lovely Anke! Hazy yellow, lasting, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of banana peel, ripe apple, pear, aprcot, clove, wheat, dough, vague nutmeg, white pepper, subtle smoke (sausage, 'pens'). Taste has sweet banana, apple & apricot, estery but not cloying, sour wheat & bitter spicy accent resting against a doughy malty backbone. Dryish, peppery hoppy finish, quite spicy, whilst the ripe yellow fruit gives the alcohol an 'Obstler' profile. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Excellent, like a basket of bread & fruits.

How have I never had this? One of the best of its kind. Perfect to wait out the storm...but unfortunately the storm outlasted the beer. Great with peppery chicken jerky.

Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Orange blonde, cloudy. Mandarine curacao and clove in the aroma. Very fruity flavor (banana, tangerine, mango, pineapple) mixed with some warming alcohol. Nice one!
