Povodni mož (The Water man) appears in Prešeren’s poetry as a handsome young man, seducing young women in Ljubljana, so we took his charm and put it in our West Coast IPA beer. The title “Slovenian beer of 2017” speaks for itself. In this American-Slovenian alliance we have put together domestic hops Aurora and American Centennial, Citra and Simcoe. The taste is a great combination of tropical and citrus fruits, so you will surely be persuaded by its freshness and juiciness.

33cl can via Beer52 (5.5%ABV), brewed by Brew York though. Fourth beer in my slow tasting session with myself on 20th November 2025. Poured into my IPA tasting glass at home, while all alone (Margie is out with old school friends), Bertie is watching though. Clouded pale yellow, dull and sad looking, the weak white head fell away almost immediately. It does have that classic Californian hop blend with both piney and citrusy hops combining in both the nose and taste, but a little more subtle than most I've come across. Pity the head couldn't hang around for a while, because otherwise this is fine.

Hazy dark golden colour with medium white head.Aroma of dried fruit and toasted malt and hops crispy fresh and smooth with dusty mouth feels and good full body nice by style beer.

A regular west coast ipa, for me, it could be more floral and fruity, classical hop for ipa, dry and there is a present side of yeast, giving a discreet touch of nuts, malty, a bit unbalanced, 19.06.21, drinking it at Epalinges.

Lattina. Il gusto al naso viene attratto dal luppolo. La finezza olfattiva è normale e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma dalla buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido si presenta velato. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è intenso. La forza gustativa è elevata e la permanenza è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano luppolate. Il retrogusto è intenso. L'aroma in bocca porta i segni di miele, crosta di pane, frutta secca, resina, pino, agrumi, pompelmo, ananas, lampone, mango, papaya e frutta tropicale.

330ml can. Slightly cloudy, dark yellow-ish, golden colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Herbal-grassy hoppy and slightly spicy, pale malty aroma, hints of nettle, a touch of salty cracker, minimally citrusy overtones. Taste is moderately bitter, herbal-grassy hoppy and slightly spicy, minimally biscuity, pale malty, hints of nettle, a touch of salty cracker, strawy-grassy and minimally citrusy overtones. Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Earthy, grassy and somehow primordial or pristine, definitely not trendy, mainstream hop flavours - nice.

Spritziger, frisch hopfiger Beginn mit karamelligen Noten. Angenehme Bitterkeit, trocken werdend, hell würzig. Der Hopfen bleibt intensiv, geringe Süße, langer Nachhall, kantig. 9/10/11/10/10/10
