Black Eyed King Imp returns in this Vietnamese coffee edition of an epic barrel-aged imperial stout.
Oh. And this is the world's strongest ever canned beer.
At 12.7% ABV, Black Eyed King Imp is a super intense and twistedly complex brew, with intense notes of sweet vanilla, rich espresso, smooth molasses and bitter chocolate barely contained by the metal wrapped around it. We've ransacked the barrel store to blend some of our favourite aromas and flavour infusions into this massive monster of a beery beast!
Malts: Black , Chocolate, Dark Crystal, Extra Pale, Roasted Barley, Smoked, Wheat
Hops: Cascade, Columbus

Canned, 330 ml from MBR. Shared with JFK10000. Pours deep dark brown, dense brownish head. Pouring from the can like oil. Great coffee aroma, intense, chocolate, cocoa, licorice, vanilla, quite sweet, sticky. Complex. Low carbonation, oily, smooth. Thick, chunky, full bodied. Great!

Shared from can t Maakun’s, thanks!! Pitch black with thin tan head. Deep roasted and burnt malts, black match heads, molasses, ash, fruity coffee, vanilla. Big sweet, quite a strong roasty bitter. Over medium body, nice over-soft carbonation and dense roasty and sweet dark aroma’s coating my tongue. Very nice.

Can shared because I’m tired of shit beer. Black with small light brown head. Sweet malts, light roast, lots of good chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, light smoke, fresh melony Scotch, fruity coffee beans, light red berries. Lots of stuff going on here, but nothing is overpowering. I guess this could be called ’balanced’ except this is a crazy imperial stout... over medium sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied with oily feel. Great.

Appearance- totally pitch black, opaque, a foamy tan head which quickly dissipates. No light escaping at all. Aroma- leather, tar, charred malt, vanilla, treacle, chocolate, fudge cake, rich liqueur coffee, boozy Christmas pudding. Smells dense. Taste- so rich and thick. Coffee beans, chewy treacle toffee, vanilla and chocolate fudge, espresso, ash, burnt dark malts, tar, sticky oily mouthfeel. Lasting sweet finish. The booze is well-hidden, but you feel the warmth. Intense stuff.

Thnx to David and Ingrid ! Pours black, good , dark mocha head. Smell is intense, roasted malts, a sweet side to it, as well as some coffee . Taste is full, rather bitter( trough the coffee) roasted malts, very creamy MF and perfect carbo. Aromatic dark malts in the finish. it has got a very mild sidenote I can’t quite place, but i really dig it nevertheless. Brewdog needs to bring out more beers like this, they’ve put out way to much overprices crap these days, and even stopped hardcore IPA ( the best core beer they made ) . Hopefully, this is the begining of the revival of brewdog as a damn fine Brewery, rather than the weak mainstream / wanabe-punk’s / blank Brewery they have become

330ml can from Doghouse. Very viscous, black pour with a thin, short lasting coffee coloured head. Aroma is sweet roasted malt, espresso. Flavour is wow. Vanilla, coffee, blackcurrant, leather, a little spice, a little smoke and a nice warming alcohol finish. Not cheap, but definitely lived up to the hype.

Can from De Caigny, shared with Benzai, small sample. Dark color, small creamy head. Aroma of lots of roast, molasses, coffee, chocolate, slight roast. Thick creamy body, quite some sweetness, roasty bitterness. Wonderful balance, lots of power. Superb beer. Quite pricey for a small can, but absolutely worthy of price and average score. Would buy again.
