Bottle. Golden color. Oak, lemon, hints of brett and soap in the aroma. Floral. Sour flavor with lemon, oak, and soft floral notes. Complex as ever.

Blend of aged Tommie Sjef farmhouse ales that were dry-hopped with Cascade and a top-fermented hoppy saison apparently, thanks to Hinke for sharing at Wild. Off-white, mousy, medium thick, lacing head on a deeply ‘old gold’-hued orange blonde beer. Aroma of dried old orange peel (the Cascade integrated in an ‘old’ kind of way), grapefruit flesh, lemon zest, sour unripe grapes, peach. Fruity, estery onset, fizzy carbonation but refinedly so, clean sour grape and yellow plum effects with a dash of gooseberry, tart and drying-lactic with mild ‘edge acidity’; bready, soft malt body, supple, dried by the tartness but eventually also by a grapefruit peel-like bitterness remaining from the hops – which, in a balanced, noble and ‘aged’ kind of way, indeed feature relatively prominently in this beer, unusually so for a sour ale. Delightful, clean, bright, fruity and nicely bitter, this is one of those beers that fully explain (and justify) Tommie Sjef’s reputation as one of Holland’s most interesting and gifted beer producers.

Ruikt en smaakt erg kruidig, gekookte groenten, funky, kaas, maar met name kruidig, vreemde afdronk, grassig.

Wild festival. Hazy golden with white head. Sour grain, soft vanillaesque notes, sweet and light sour stonefruit, peachy. Nettly herbal. Moderate sweet and bitter, mild sour. Really nice.
