Poured a dark brown from can. Coffee, caramel, malt, bitterness, some milky sugar. Pretty good for abv

By itself it’s a good little coffee stout. Put it up to its big brother coffee underverse and it’s pathetic.

Coffee, soil, toasted brown bread nose. Black, medium tan head, nice lace. French roast coffee, charcoal, burned cookies. Full body, easy carbonation. Heavily roasted, no extraneous fruit notes whatsoever. Lovely.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall rich brown head that fades fairly quickly and just leaves a small sliver on top of some deep brown notes. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, lactose, rich anise and licorice with some raisins, figs, prunes, plums and of course a good deal of roasted coffee notes coming through that finish with a nice brown sugar sweetness and some scents from the cream, milk and lactose. Medium to Full-bodied; Very rich earthiness, a lot of nutty flavours, some strong bready malts with a good deal of anise, canella, allspice and nutmeg spice notes as well that ends with a strong sweetness from the pitted fruits, but also from the caramelised sugars and especially the lactose and creamy flavours at the very end. Aftertaste shows a very robust, well-rounded bite that stretches from earthy and dry malt qualities to the spicey aspects of the anise and canella and brings out the sweetness on the end, from seemingly everything across the board, but strongest in the lactose, cream and caster sugar properties. Overall, a nice, robust, earthy, deep and especially full-flavoured beer that shows a lot of bitterness near the front, with a lot of complex, nutty and pungent flavours at the end with some of the alcohol finally coming through, but still a lot of cream, lactose and milky notes. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 10-July-2020 for US$3,68 sampled at my house here in Washington on 28-February-2021.

Pint can thanks to hershiser2! 10/6/20. Black, large frothy dark brown head, good retention. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, earth. Taste is coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla. Full bodied, decent balance. Decadent. Quite nice.

16oz can pours a mostly opaque dark brown/black with some cloudy beige head. Nice nose, caramel, toast, toffee, medium roast coffee, nutty. Flavor is sweet with malt and caramel and rootbeer, the coffee is there but its sweetened, nutty, some dried peanuts maybe. Finishes off dry, but smooth. It meshes well together. When I think of Yirgacheffe though, I think smokey and roasty. Not a ton of that comes through, sadly.

$3.25 pint can, WW. Murky dark brown with a soft brown head. Roasted malt, coffee, light cocoa nose. Smooth coffee, lightly sweet, cream, cocoa, roasted malt. Really nice, clean, simple.

Black body with thin lasting tan head. Coffee aroma, fairly full. Taste is malt roast, coffee and malt roast. Full finish once it warms a bit. Don't drink this too cold

Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of foam that lingers. Lovely coffee forward nose with some light fruit acidity with cacao nib and caramel notes. Smooth and rich on the palate with nice coffee bitterness and acidity balancing out the malt. Lingering cacao nib, vanilla and coffee. --- Beer merged from original tick of Single Origin Coffee Stout (Ethiopian Yirgacheffe) on 20 Apr 2019 at 08:50 - Score: 8
