355ml can @ Blackhaddock's beer cave. Cheers for this Arkansas tick. Final beer of the night. Pours dark, with a nice beige sheet. Intense, excellent barrel influence here, nose really is a thing of beauty with many barrel-aged elements coming out to play. Smooth bodied with great drinkability, strong robust bourbon, earthy rye whisky and just a seductive boozy influence in general with chocolate and subtle espresso shades to round it off. It's a beast and very enjoyable.

9th March 2022. Mini-tasting with minutemat at my place. 12oz can (11.2% ABV), last beer of the night and also my 51st State rated at last; cheers Tanner for helping me reach this goal. What a lovely way to complete my quest to drink a beer from every state, this was a fitting end. Black bodied, tanned topping. Boozy, malty, with a rich chocolate and coffee flavour.

Can from huskertan: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is loads of whiskey, chocolate, sort of spicy. Taste is somewhat sweet, loads of barrel, vanilla taste. Nice aftertaste. Light booze.

Can, thanks to mansquito. Pours dark rubescent brown. Caramel, chocolate, complex red fruit stuff, musty red grape, cherry liqueur, vanilla, oak, chocolate biscuits. Medium body. Very nice.

Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a deep brown to black with a small bit of beige foam that dissipates. Strong boozy aromas on the nose with wood and roasted malt. Some vanilla and cacao nib on the palate, but lots of barrel and booze again. Finishes hot and a bit thin on the palate. Some lingering chocolate malt.

Got in a BIF from jdell15. 12 ounce can into snifter, no can dating. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and spicy rye; with lighter notes of molasses, raisin, cherry, red wine, smoke, leather, tobacco, herbal, slight char, and roast/oaky earthiness. Some booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malts and bourbon/rye/Cabernet barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and spicy rye; with lighter notes of molasses, raisin, cherry, red wine, smoke, leather, tobacco, herbal, slight char, and roast/oak6 earthiness. Light herbal/roast/char bitterness and bourbon/rye/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, spicy rye, light molasses/dark fruit, smoke, tobacco, herbal, and roast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malts and bourbon/rye/Cabernet barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/rye/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from roast bitterness and bourbon/rye/oak spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly tannic/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden; a mildly increasing warmth of 11.2%, with very mild barrel booze lingering after the finish. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malts and bourbon/rye/Cabernet barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mellowly bitter/tannic/drying finish. Very rich and complex malts; awesome barrel balance without much booze. Great presence of the bourbon and rye whiskey barrels; with the Cabernet mostly showing up in the background. A highly enjoyable offering.

Can. A- Rye, dill, cocoa, booze. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Strong rye, whisky, subtle red wine, slightly boozy, chocolate, mild bitterness. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, boozy finish. O- Finally! My last state, Arkansas. A huge thanks to my father for helping get this one for me. I am now 50/50, and did it with a solid beer. This was definitely boozy. A strong amount of rye and dill on both the nose and palate. Thankfully the palate is a bit more balanced out with some chocolate. Really a solid beer all around but the triple barrel aging is not necessary. In fact it is too much. The rye aging overpowers everything. Worth the $23 for a 4 pack? Heck no, but remove two of the barrels aged in and drop it to $12 a 4 pack and I would really say it’s worth it.
