(bottle) clear amber colour with a tall brownish head; aroma of grass of bread; balanced flavor with long medium bitter finish; no discernible pumpkin, strangely enough there is no pumpkin listed in ingredient list...

Bottle. Vegetal pumpkin, caramel malt, and slight spice aroma. Hazy light amber with a small ivory head. Sweet vegetal pumpkin malt flavor. Not much spice, just a little clove, and a light, but harsh, bitter finish. Light to medium body. Not a fan of this one.

Smells a little bit pumpkiny though pretty light overall. Pours amber, pale ale style. Taste has some astringent bitter and not much body. A little bit of spice but not a very average product. Bottle from lcbo.

Botught sixer for my fall themed party. Pours orangey brown with no head. Nose is of pumpkin spicing. Tastes of nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel, cloves, earth, and pumpkin. It’s got good carbonation and is highly drinkable. Quite nice

12 ounce bottle, best by Jan 2012. Pours hazy golden orange color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with great retention that reduces to a thick lacing cap that lasts. Tons of carbonation streaming up from the bottom. Aromas of big fresh pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, caramel, and bread. Some very nice aromas here, probably the most pumpkin forward aromas I have ever had in a beer. Taste of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, bread, and allspice. No bitterness noticed, but there are some lingering notes of pumpkin, bread, allspice, and cinnamon on the finish. Taste is a bit on the watery side, but overall really solid and enjoyable. Medium carbonation and body; with a bit of a creamy mouthfeel that goes down very smoothly. Nice balance of flavors. No alcohol noticed in the taste or finish as expected. Overall this is a really nice and sessionable pumpkin ale. I would have this again.

12oz bottle from Chuck’s poured into a lager glass. Pours a clear light amber with about one finger of white head. Very nice aroma. Cinnamon, pumpkin and nutmeg. Smells kinda like a Christmas candle. Aroma is lightly sweet. Nice cinnamon flavor. Medium bodied with a kinda thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long cinnamon finish. Overall, pretty good. I could easily drink a 6pack and not get sick, unlike some other overly-sweet pumpkin beers. I wish I would have bought more than one of these.

Draft at Bavarian Lodge. So I’m back on pumpkin beers this fall, I think. Now this one is little heavy on cinnamon and nutmeg in the nose, which is okay, but I’m rather having roast pumpkin. That’s just me. But a great brown holiday beer color to put me in mind of fall. Taste is overdone on the spices, nutmeg mainly, especially compared to previous pumpkin beers I’ve had, thinking Onion and Uinta. But the rest of the beer is very solid, thus the rather odd rating. But that’s just my opinion, and I’m the only one who has to stand by it.

Originally rated November 2008. One of two pumpkin ales reviewed tonight (the other being Great Lakes Pumpkin Ale). I did really enjoy their Brooklyn Lager, so decided to start with this one. It is always nice to find these good American brews at the LCBO. Pours a copper-orange colour with a nice medium head, with more than average retention, that creates decent lacing. The aroma that strikes first is the cinnamon. Then, a little nutmeg and pumpkin appears (if you really look for it). The mouthfeel is quite crisp and refreshing, being a little on the watery side. I am a bit surprised how this one does lack taste. I was expecting a lot of spices, but kind of on the dull side. Even the cinnamon does not stand out. Nothing bad about it, but just wishing for a bigger punch in the flavour section.
