Draft pour at Solana Beach. Poured a dark, almost black brown color with a small white head. Aroma was lots of roasted malts, dark chocolate. More hop than I expected. Body was not as thick as an Imperial Stout normally is, at least to me. Flavor was slightly bitter, touch of roasted malts too.

Tap at Sour&Bitter Copenhagen. Beer in the glass deep black. Heavy malty aroma, a bit earthy. Starts mild-malty, more and more earthy, more dry. Finish still earthy with notes of chocolate.Modest dry. A good one!

Tap at Sour & Bitter. Opaque black beer, good bubbly pale tan head. Minerally crisp palate. Smooth dark malt, a trace of roast. Very mild lacto. Finishes crisp with a whisper of dark chocolate and toffee. A crisp Impy!

Tap at Sour & Bitter 2012. It pours very dark brown, with a decent light tan head. The nose is toasted coconut, treacle, meat, roasted malt, coffee and caramel. The taste is liquorice, charcoal, coffee, roasted malt, baked goods, spice and alcohol warmth in the finish. Full body and fine carbonation. A solid Imperial Stout.

[5/10/12] Draught sample at Sour & Bitter. Black, slightly transparent, with a bit of light brown foam. Pleasant roasty aroma, somewhat burnt. Burnt flavor with espresso notes. Medium to full-bodied. Nice.
