Bottle. Golden in color with a two finger head. More coconut in the aroma than the flavor.

Limited release. Pours a cloudy gold color with a tiny white head which disappeared quickly. No lacing. Aroma of a wheat ale. Flat mouthfeel. The coconut flavor is very faint. I doubt i could identity it without the label. Sweet, juicy wheat ale with a short finish. Tasty but forgettable.

Bottle. Coconut, milk, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow with nice white head. Moderately sweet coconut, wheat malt, and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Good body. Pretty good.

On tap. Pours a light gold/yellow with a thin haze and aromas of pineapple at first with coconut that comes through stronger as it warms. Flavor is kind of a boring beer (not quite a pale ale, not quite a lager... in terms of palate and flavor and all) with some coconut at the end, which makes it way more interesting.

Coconut nose. Clear amber, thin head. Pineapple, bread crust, corn. Subtle coconut finish. Light body, easy carbonation.

Draft at Hellcat Annie’s. Clear yellow-orange, streaky lace. Smells like coconut sunscreen. Taste is nice, coconut and some bread. Sweet, clean, and refreshing. Good summer beer. 6/4/7/4/15

Bottle sent by Schlafly for review. The beer pours a foamy body, with some staying power, over a cloudy pilsener type head. The nose is very lightly fruity, with just a whiff of coconut, probably a good thing, since some thing I’ve tried with lots of coconut aroma remind me of suntan lotion. But the coconut does come up in the taste, with the toasty part definitely adding a bit of surprise to the overall impression. In fact, I’d say it’s the pineapple that loses out on this round. I’ve never been a big fan of the texture of shredded coconut in, say Mounds or Almond Joy, and I’m suspicious of TV infomercial doctors pitching the alleged benefits of overpriced coconut water. But in beer form, it’s very pleasant. Not an every-occasion beer, but one that works well with desserts, or as dessert.
