Sampled at Lentebierfestiv 2016 in The Hague. Murky dark-ruby with a thin tan head. Smells of macerated fruit (mostly cherries and grapes), barrel, nuts. Tastes like cognac, sherry, cherries, cocoa, coke, grapes, macerated fruit. Feels a bit light-bodied and has an out-of-place fresh hop bitterness, but other than that not a bad beer.

Tap at the Lentebier Festival, Grote Markt, Den Haag, 2016. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy broken white head. The aroma is alcohol, cognac. The flavour is moderate sweet with a big alcohol bitter, light smoky malt, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A real heart warming beer but dominated by the alcohol.

Taste likewise, also some low nail-polish remover, some cognac, however fairly thin, watery mouthfeel, flat, thin body, no don’t like this so much, way to thin...

Sampled from tap at Bierfestival Groningen 2016. Clear, dark reddish brown with a tan head. Sweetish, fruity-boozy aroma of cognac, raisins and vanilla. Sweetish-malty, boozy and slightly fruity taste of caramel, vanilla, lots of cognac and some licorice, followed by a long, boozy and slightly warming finish. Thin to medium body, slightly watery mouthfeel, flat. Okay, way too boozy, lacks a decent body.

Wow. So mouch cognac. Awesome.

Draft at Kompaan. Cloudy brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of figs, overripe dark fruit, cognac & oaky barrel notes, alcohol, caramel and light chocolate. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.
