Flarra PQ.

On draught at Bob’s Bar during the 17th Annual Extravaganza!! on 02/23/2019. The beer is a brown-black color with a medium thin light beige head that recedes quickly to a dense film. Small patches of lace. Roast malt, coconut and rum in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky rum, toasted coconut, malt and vanilla. The finish is sweet with a rum and coconut aftertaste. Good beer all around.

The Aromas are dark malt, roast, and minerals. Coconut is very subdued. Flavors are like nose, coconut comes out perhaps a hair more, sweet and very rich. Good body with alcohol coming out in the Finish. Maybe a bit of rum in there too somewhere.

Medium brown, slight haze, not much head. This has a toasted coconut note, with a little buttery rum note. On the palate, it's strong and rough. There's a lot of barrelly, boozy notes. This has a warm rum accent, and a lot of wood. The malts are not that interesting, and I don't get all that much of coconut, maybe a bit of toasted? It's ok, but pretty rough, and that detracts from what is otherwise a winning concept.
