Our milkshake IPA is brewed with Warrior and Citra for a smooth citrus bitterness that doesn't linger, and lactose sugar was added for a silky mouth feel. The beer was fermented on Cara Cara, Satsuma and Naval oranges with vanilla and a double dose of Citra during the dry hop.

Slightly overcarbonated when popped open the can with a little loss and a touch extra carbonation. Lightly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a copper glow and a thinnish, single centimetre tall pure whit head that is leftover after the soapy head dies down. Aroma of alcohol, astringent malts, grass, light lactose, some hay and a good amount of pungent, highly alpha acidic herbal and perfumey hops with a touch of curacao and a dose of the vanilla. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich and pungent malt and herbal bite that shows a lot of hops and their resulting bitterness with a heavy hand of the orange and curacao notes with a lot of vanilla and softer lactose, but the pungent hops and bitterness punch through, especially at the end. Aftertaste shows the hops, bitterness, vanilla and especially the orange notes with a robust and complex grassy and crisp complexity. Overall, a nice and robust IPA that shows well with the oranges and lactose with a lot of vanilla, but a good deal of the alcohol and 'traditional' IPA flavours, throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, Florida (Orange Blossom Trail) on 19-April-2019 for US$3,79 sampled at home in Washington on 18-October-2019.

Can with the number b#15581 on it from the fridge but no idea how old, drunk on 10/3/18.
Full-on, light-colored, chicken soup. Massive white head showing incredibly strong retention is nice, but worrisome.
Smells of pine, floral notes and strong citrus. Kind of vague, old, tired and overshadowed a bit by the lactose. Some lemon-marmalade and light tropical fruit but pretty bland and earthy, bordering dirty.
Big WHAP of alcohol which is sharp and even bitter, in the mouth. Very raw, almost gasoline-like. Twangy papaya is about the only other thing I get, maybe some old lactic notes. Obviously infected. Texture is loose and tired.

Can from Liquor Barn. Gusher when opened. Pours a clearish gold with a mountain of foam that just keeps growing. Rubbing alcohol, young tannic pineapple, sweat and sharp herbal aromas permeate the nose. Spritzy carbonation, more acidic pineapple, sharp pithy bitterness and fermented orange juice notes. Sharp bitterness on the finish. Drain pour. Definitely an infected can.

Can from Whole Foods Gowanus: pours light orange haze with a white head... way much head. Aroma is light orange and hints of vanilla. Taste is orangey and sweet. A bit creamy. I am not excited.

12 ounce can from Steve's Fitchburg, 8/11/18. Murky orange, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of guava, vanilla, pale malt, toast, citrus. Taste is strong vanilla, extract even, tropical fruit, citrus, pale malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, kinda disjointed. A little off-putting, but not terrible.

Can at home. Nose is vanilla and citrus. Tastes of vanilla, orange zest, white pepper, aspirin. Bitter for style. Chewy mouthfeel.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, lemon, grapefruit, citrus zest, vanilla, cream, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, slight pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, oranges, vanilla, lactose, and pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, orange juice, lemon, grapefruit, citrus zest, vanilla, cream, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, slight pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, lemon, grapefruit, citrus zest, vanilla, cream, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, light pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, oranges, vanilla, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Lightly increasing warmth of 8.3% after the finish. Overall this is an excellent fruited milkshake DIPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, oranges, vanilla, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV with the very minimally bitter/drying finish. Great soft feel. Great Citra hop showcase. Extremely juicy balanced hops/oranges; great vanilla, lactose, and wheat/oat/malt balance; not overly sweet/heavy. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Loved the hop profile as expected.
