Single hop awesomeness, shining a spotlight on our favourite ingredient, the not so humble hop. Ace of Simcoe has the ultimate poker face - this session IPA is low in strength but has an ace in the hole - devastating hoppy aroma & flavour.

This session IPA has been bombarded with Simcoe. Mango, pine, and grapefruit explode from the glass, firing off from a light, complex toasty malt base. Low voltage, high amplitude hops, in their purest form.

Bottle. An almost clear one, with a dense off-white head. Some lacing. The aroma is mostly on the piney side, with little malts showing. Some grass and chewing gum notes. It’s medium bodied and a bit too carbonated, quite dry, with flavors of pine cones, resins and a touch of pineapple. Some orange zest too, especially in the end. Quite nice indeed, especially considering the ABV. Like the bitterness. 161012

Bottle from Shinanoya. Pours a clear, deep gold color with a finger of foam that lingers for a bit. Mango and peach come out nicely on the nose with some faint caramel notes in the background. More citrus on the palate with some light bitterness. Slightly soft carbonation with a creamy mouthfeel. Bitterness on the finish is restrained with some lingering orange zest. Nice and easy session IPA.
