4 oz. draft at EBF, Boston, MA. 2019. Saturday night session. Berries are lightly tart and slightly earthy. Yogurt and sour grains with a somewhat nice balance. Pleasing.

12oz can drunk 8/31/18.
Lightly hazy, chalky, violet-ruby with a pinkish head that shows moderate-to-low retention.
Nose is full of strong berry acidity, nice and tart and meaty, with moderate lactic acidity and good juiciness throughout. Some vegetal character, yogurt, earth and other typical fruited kettle sour notes, but the fruit is done excellently and is well-attenuated and integrated. Hops have mostly faded by this poing, leaving light floral and citrus notes in their wake. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth the beer is quite dry, nicely tart, juicy, full of bright berry notes and even lightly puckering on the finish. Cracker and biscuit malts are very dry, and could probably stand to add a touch more sweetness/malt depth but the carbonation is tight and there is no alcohol or flaw. Pretty straightforward lactic component, not overly intense and showing moderate integration. The fruit really saves the day here. Lots of chalk, mineral, earth, juice and tartness.

Multiple cans from Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy strawberry red with a full 2 fingers of pink foam that lingers. Dank citrus aromas with undertones of raspberry, wild strawberry and some earthiness. Smooth on the palate, with crisp carbonation and a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Some mineral notes, drier than expected, more berry-forward skin and flesh notes. Lingering, dry berry finish. More Night Shift that Destihl thankfully. --- Beer merged from original tick of Ain't Nothin' Normal (Boysenberry) on 02 Jun 2018 at 09:00 - Score: 7
