I am Remus is a Double India Pale Ale full of oats and wheat for that great full body. Heavily hopped with Citra, Denali, Simcoe, Ekuanot and Mosaic; it’s like his twin brother, Romulus, but different…

Can from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham and shared in Bangkok. Poured a milky light straw colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, mineral, zesty citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter sweet, with a fresh, crisp, juicy, citrus fruit, dank, wet hop, light spicy, dry hop bitter palate with a little hop burn. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Thin bubbly off white head stayed on vivid light orange coloured body. Chalk, orange & hops aroma. Medium bodied, dull on the palate with low carbonation & a tingle on the back. Mango, hops, Tropical fruits, kiwi & pithy tastes with a strange chalky finish.

440ml can side by side with I am Romules @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, May '19, thanks Simon for this. Now as I understand it, Neon Raptor released these two under the premise that there was something slightly different about them. Then revealed there wasn't, apart from the colour of the can. But said that some people thought there was. Well, firstly I'll say this is an excellent DIPA, without a doubt the best I've had from a brewery that seemed to have a shaky start, in terms of what I tried anyway. Smooth, hazy exotics, great balance. Couldn't detect any difference between them, so will duplicate this rating.

26th May 2019, Shrewsbury Beer Share Meeting in Chez Sophie; five of us. 440ml can, vertical tasting with it's brother 'I am Romulas'. Cloudy yellow, huge white billowing head. Slight pepper and pineapple aromas and flavours within the tropical fruity brew. The beers are the same by the way.

13th May 2019.
Can. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, very slightly viscous, decent fine carbonation. Soft and smooth malts, silky and lightly creamy. The impressive hop array brings soft skunk and pine, very mild hop spice and smooth and somewhat ripe citrus. Touch of ripe tropical fruits and a whisper of that Denali bruised pineapple. Smooth finish brings the lightest bitterness. Overall pretty sumptuous, rich and quaffable. If the hops had been brighter, this would have been stellar.
