Black with thin head. Aroma and flavour are full of Indian spices especially cardamom and nutmeg. Also hints of bittersweet roasted malts.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear, very dark brown to black with a beige head. Sweetish, slightly roasty and very herbal aroma of tea leaves, blackcurrant, juniper and a bit of dark chocolate. Sweetish, slightly roasty and very herbal taste of dark chocolate, some coffee, blackcurrant, tea leaves and juniper, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly warming finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Tasty, maybe a tad too much Chai for me.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Dark brown to black color, small light brown head. Aroma is malts, herbal, spice indeed, (Dutch) "speculaas". Tastes exactly the same. A bit sweetish as well. Usually I hate herbal, spicy beers but this one is actually very wel balanced and -I can’t believe I’m saying this- I actually quite enjoy it.
