Tap at the brewery. Cloudy brown, tan cream. Umami mustard chocolate aroma, sweet base, sugary, not too malty, slightly nutty, sweet, sticky, lightly spicy finish. Weird.

Tap at Lüdde Bauhaus. Dark brown. Malt syrup something? Creamy sweet, malt syrup. This is how I imagine a root beer. I've never had a root beer but I don't like it. But with an odd dry sweetness I can't really put my finger on. It tastes like stale coca cola, but the Zero version, that had been poured yesterday shortly before 2 am when someone wanted to drink it, and he also wanted a weak old slice of lemon and a lot of ice cubes in it, and then it was forgotten on the counter until someone found it tidying up at noon, said woha I wonder what that is, and tasted it.

Tap @ Brauhaus Lüdde, Quedlinburg. Hazy brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, toasted malt, caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is medium sweet. Sweet finish. Sweet but not bad for the low ABV. 161023

(31.10.2019.)

Never ever a brown ale.this is more like a root beer. Just 1.9 vol. Lots of sugar, just sweet and a little malty. Thin body, short finish.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours cloudy very dark brown with stable white head. Clear aroma of roast and caramel malt, with estery notes. Sweet flavour of caramel, with malty, bready and roasty notes. Sweet aftertaste with roasty hints. A little watery but okay. Much better than many other beers of the same type.

Malzig-herb. Sehr süffig!
Tolles Malzbier! Und nicht zu süß!! 12/12/11/12
