Often associated with the North, the constellation Ursa Major or The Great Bear: Native American mythology says that three of the stars represent three hunters who, when they catch up with the bear towards the beginning of Autumn when the constellation is low in the sky, wound the bear and the blood from the wounds drips onto the trees below, turning the leaves red.

Cask at the Sir Christopher Hatton, London on 20th October 2017. Deep copper with thin disappearing off-white foam and no lacing. Sweet malty aroma with caramel and soft fruits. Tart plum, biscuit malt and sweet citrus join leafy herbiness in-mouth. Some bitte, grassy notes in the finish after caramel malts wash away. Drinkable.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - deep amber to red with a decent head. Nose - red fruit but dominated by astringent malt. Taste - more of the same. Also big caramel. Palate - close to medium bodied with a crunchy texture. The finish is dry crunchy and very astringent. Overall - somehow manages to be dry and astringent as well as being too sweet. Not sure this is how the brewer would've intended.
