Cask-conditioned at Brigantes, York 29/3/2019. Dark in colour, with a tight, off-white, head. Toasty malts, liquorice, a touch of dark fruit, Leafy hops and a toasty finish. Good.

Cask at the Cock Tavern - Hackney. Pours deep brown with a soft, foamy tan head. The nose holds dark malts, mellow coffee, light roast, raisins. Light-medium sweet flavour with mild chocolate character, some bitter coffee, earth, burnt toast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Finishes with some toasted sugars, milk chocolate, ash, a little more earth and coffee. Respectable.

Cask @ Salopian bar. Pours dark with ruby hints, pale tan head. Fairly sweet in character with vanilla, light roast and some bubblegum notes. Liquorice hints. Smooth on the palate. Interesting, flavoursome ruby porter.

Cask @ Grove Inn, Leeds. Very dark, but not a black stout. Its taste is not as stated within its style either, with floral infused roasted malt flavours, although more regular in its nose.

Half pint, well-kept cask ale at Grove Inn in Leeds Holbeck. Creamy tan-coloured head to dark brown body. Fair lacing. Mild dark malty nose, hints of liquorice. Mid-sweet flavours of dark malts, coffee, raisin and dark dough. Slightly roasted tail. Satisfying Brit porter (07.07.2015).
