This massive Stout pours a mahogany black with a thick, brown head. The aroma is all chocolate and toasted malt. The first wave of flavor embraces anise and dark, bitter chocolate but opens up to include coffee, smoke and rich sweet malt.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a very dark brown with large tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong roasted nuts, chocolate, wood. Medium mouth with nice roast, dark chocolate, sweet finish. Very good.

650ml bottle @ ISKTR 2014
Pours pitch black with a small light brown head. Aroma of salty licorice, roasty malts, some dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is heavy, salty and roasty with loads of licorice, dark chocolate and coffee. Finish is salty, roasty and slightly sweetish with loads of licorice, coffee and dark chocolate. Okay, but nothing special.

Tap at Denver Tap Room - not sure of the batch, but marked as 10.6% - black pour with a fluffy tan head - nose of anise, licorice, smoke, roast, light bitterness - full and bold, but ever so soft in the mouth - dense dark malts provide a balance of sweetness and roast - touches of smoke - light balancing acidity - earth, nori/seaweed, fennel seed - complex, balanced, delicious.

Release #11. 10.3% ABV. Bomber from Beverages for Less in Santee, CA. Fred’s the man! Pours extremely dark brown/black with an extremely dark tan head. Aroma has lots of treacle and burnt malt. Full bodied. Flavor is smooth burnt malt, chocolate, treacle, touch of heat, and bitter! Finishes all that way. Mouth smacking finish. Very impressive.
