Bottle. Amber colour with an off-white head, nice lacework and good duration. Aroma has notes of pine, resind, bittery ornages and light citrus. Flavor is very fruity, dominated by bittery oranges traces, grapefruit with a good maltiness. The final has a decent bitterness with good duration.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky apricot-tan color with a medium sized creamy-soapy yellow-white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweetish and tangy with vague fruity hops, Windex, lemon and bread. The flavor was bitter and tangy with notes of bread, lemon, Windex and perfume. Medium length bitter, and tangy lemon and perfume finish. Medium body. Meh.

Bottle. Pours a slightly brownish gold with a decent head and soapy citrus aromas. Flavor is a mix of soap, lemongrass, cat pee and toffee, but the toffee is odd and really subtle. Mouthfeel is thin and the beer finishes with a lemony zestiness.

What da heck is this name? I thot it was spelled rong at the bar. On tap at the rivertowne, Irwin. Mild haunting hop perfume greets the olfactory. Taste is much less in the impact than what was expected. initially this stuff is friendly and fairly mild but as the session continues, there is this astringent hop kick that pierces the palate. Yes, nice head stays a tad rocky. Bitterness continues to build and finishes with the most impact right at the end. Leaves you wondering. Finish is the peak of the hops, wew. If it wasnโt for the screetching finish, Iโd day this is an apa.

A golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, fruity biscuit malt with floral hops, light must. In mouth, a grassy malt with herbal bitter hops, white grapefruit, nice.

Rustico, Arlington tap: Pours copper with a whitish head. Aroma is slight caramel malt backbone with a hefty helping of citrus, especially grapefruit. Taste is bitter in the normal west coast IPA type of way. Body is well balanced. Although as if we need anyone to tell us that cascade works with IPAs.

12 oz bottle. Another hazy golden amber pour and off-white head. Grassy hop aroma leads, floral as well and some caramel. Flavor is grassy backed up with some floral and grapefruit, with light biscuit at the end. Thereโs a sharp bitterness to this version in particular thatโs pretty nice. "Grassy" is normally a hop flavor that I find to be a drawback, but I really like it here. For me that makes this one the most interesting single-hop version out of the three in the Dark Horse pack and kind of redeems the whole pack for me.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/5/2013. Pours hazy orange amber color with a nice 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, orange zest, grapefruit, lemon peel, floral, caramel, grass, bread, and light pine. Damn nice aromas with big citrus hop presence and moderate malt balance. Taste of big grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, pine, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, floral, grass, caramel, and pine on the finish for a good bit. Very nice hop flavor balance and complexity; with moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice single hop IPA. All around nice balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
