Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 22 Dec 2016, large sample. Clear dark brown color, short creamy brown head. Aroma of wood, booze, whisky, peat, slight roast, dark chocolate, coffee, mocha. Soft sweet in taste, dry, peat. Base beer remains quite chewy and present, but there’s quite a lot of peat present, which is not my favorite stuff. Slight raisin in the finish as well, cognac. Quite complex, bit boozy.

Bottle shared at Jopenkerk. Pours dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of alcohol, nail polish remover, hairspray, floral notes and booze. Too fresh! Flavor is moderate sweet with a big fresh alcohol palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Let it lay longer!

Bottle @ home. Opaque dark brown to black color, average sized beige to light brown head. Smell and taste malts, a little winey, wood and lightly alcohol. A bit weird imo. Decent to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Don’t really know what to think of this.

33cl Bottle at Jopen Proeflokaal. Almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of wood, sharp whisky, alcohol, currants, raisins, sweet peat, liquorice root, coffee, roasted malts, toffee. Flavour is sharp whisky, peat, raisins, roasted malts, toffee, coffee, alcohol, soft woody bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft mouthfeel. Feels a bit young, whisky notes are very prominent and sharp. Packs a punch too. Already quite nice though.
