Mowdy - n. A mole (animal not spy)

Nothing short sighted about this visionary beer: the hoppy goodness of California wrapped up in a British-strength pale ale. The underground scene is where it’s happening, just ask the Mowdy brothers.

Bottle from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - golden amber with a generous head. Nose - pine, caramel and some citrus. Taste - weird combo of herbs and caramel again. Like lavender toffee if such a think exists. Palate - light bodied, creamy texture, fairly refinish. Overall - so so.

Clear golden colour with thin lacy head. Aroma and flavour remind me of American red ipa's. Lots of floral and resinous hop and hints of caramelised red fruits.

Cask at the Bridge Hotel, Buttermere. Amber with a white head. Green leafy flavour. Light dryness. Reasonably hoppy and quite well balanced, just not sure if I like the flavour of the specific hops used.
