Named after a little blue butterfly found living on wild hops along the Front Range of Colorado. Delicate hint of banana and clove-like flavor, typical of a traditional saison, that flutter with a subtle spice character derived only from the hops used.

Bottle, probably shared by badnewsbeers. Cloudy yellow-orange body, thick puffy head. Spicy, yeasty, fruity nose. Dusty, earthy body, bitter with pineapple and peach notes.

750 c&c from Bu11zeye. Opened with a huge bang - cork to ceiling - but no gush. Pours orange with a creamy white head. Aroma of fruit and hop. Flavor same with just the right amount of barnyard. Excellent.

Draft. Deep golden body. Frothy white head. Aroma of clove, spice, toasted grain, herbs, mustiness. Note of bubble gum. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Turning syrupy in the finish. Nice that it’s not overly spicy, but it’s way too sweet. Plus the peppery alcohol in the finish is distracting.

750 ml bottled purchased at Gomers South in Kansas City, Missouri. The bottles opens with a loud pop. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a noisy off white three inch head. The aroma is sweet herbal yeast, grass, and a decent blast of sweet floral. The taste has the herbal sweet yeast up front, moving towards grass and medicinal in the finish. The sweetness is quite pronounced initially, though calmed down as the beer opened and warmed. The palate is fine, highly active carbonation with the sweet floral medicinal finish. A bit heavy on the herbal medicinal yeast and sweetness for my preference. Decent.

Tap at Odell - lightly hazy straw color - small lace - lightly sweet nose of peach flesh, light clove - dry, cracked grains, pepper, and earth/cobweb underneath - flavor is moderately sweet up front, some citrus and peach - some huskiness through the middle - dries out late, bringing medium to high acidity, strong spiciness, a bit of earthy muskiness - okay, but a bit out of balance, and displaying quite a few non-traditional aspects (high sweetness up front, some rather apparent alcohol) - more like a Belgian strong.
