Bottle at home. Pours deep reddish brown, nose is caramel, berries, smoked sausage, taste is sweet, chewy, meaty, malty, little bit of pineapple, quite flat but doesnโ€™t detract.

Almost opaque dark brown beer, mild reddish tint. Palate is comparatively light, semi dry. Modest carbonation. Smooth malts, nice toffee caramel. Nice Port Wine berries, little wood too. Mild ripe fruits. Smooth light finish. Yeah - decent barleywine.

Keg @ Friends Of Ham, Leeds. Very dar red. Its strength dominates, but dark and roasted malts are flavoursome here and thereโ€™s a good aroma in this respect too.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, ruby red. No head. Nose has bonfire toffee. Black treacle. Soft savoury smoke. Hints of fruity hop. Some liquorice and minty herb. Smells fantastic. Taste is herby, minty sweet. Turns burnt toffee bitter. Full, rich mouthfeel, unfortunately let down by a complete lack of carbonation. Finishes long, treacly, fruity bitter, and herby. Fantastic. With some life, this would be a stunner.
