Our champion blackcurrant porter! Easy going, rich and smooth with liquorice and chocolate notes from the complex dark roasted malt recipe, balanced perfectly by the late addition of Bramling Cross hops.

(Cask at Lyric, Soho, London, 22 May 2023) Dark brown colour with hints of ruby. Creamy beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dark fruit and plums. Malty taste with notes of caramel, chocolate, dark fruit, plums, roasted malt and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty, smooth and well balanced porter. Nice one.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A glossy black pour with a thin tan head; fruity chocolate aroma; smooth and creamy in the mouth, with a dry drinking chocolate taste to start, then with some fruity blackcurrant and red berry flavours; followed by a sweeter finish with a touch of coffee grounds. Satisfying.
