Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol October 2016. Amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Sweet, malty beer, with a touch of berry fruit and bready malts before a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask @ Leeds Station Wetherspoon, Leeds. Clear copper with a creamy head. Has a fairly easy-drinking texture, but not thin, with a malty sweetness.

Cask handpull at Liberty Bounds JDW London. Clear amber brown colour lasting beige head. Some butter diacetyl maybe. Some caramel. No tell tale Wadworth house yeast. The rest is an ok best bitter. Straight down the line. Shame about the diacetyl.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - deep amber to red with a nice fluffy head. Nose - mainly toffee, some ginger biscuit. Taste - strawberry jam and biscuits. Like a wholemeal Jammy Dodger. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - this grew on me. Decent.

Cask at Billy Bobs (JDW), High Wycombe. Deep amber with an off-white head. Dryness balances the toffee flavour, with earthy, autumn leafy hops giving a moderate bitterness. Yes, it’s a brown twiggy bitter, but it’s done well and I rather enjoyed it.
