Cask at Reading Beer Festival. Brown. Loads of lime sweets on aroma. Loads of chocolate lime on tasting. Man this is smooth. Sweet but with just the right amount of roastiness to balance. Love that lime. Going to be beer of the night by a country mile. Fab. Can’t believe the ratings on here aren’t higher. Didn’t realise at the time that this was my 2000th rate, meant to have a cask mild as my 2000th, but in retrospect this was a damn fine accidental milestone beer. Shame I didn’t get to share the milestone with Ian- due to a lack of planning on my part I ended up at the fest on a different day to him.

Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 12/2/2016. Dark brown, with a thin, beige, head. Toasty malts, some citrus hops, red berries and a dryish finish. I didn’t detect any lime character, but this was a decent beer.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Very dark red with a thin head. Strong and sweet tasting with a sticky texture. Spice in its aftertaste.
