Cask at the Wellington - Birmingham. Pours clear, deep red-brown with a foamy, light beige head. The nose holds bent malts, grapefruit, earth, toast. Light-medium sweet flavor with floral hops, bitter rind, pine, earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lots of floral hops in the finish, perfume, melon, lime zest, pine. Not bad.

Cask at the Wellington. It pours darkest ruby - black with a medium white head. The nose is bitter - sweet, dark chocolate, plum, date and Dandelion & Burdock. The taste is bitter, charred pine, earthy, burnt toast, plum, date, blackcurrant jam, light spice and light ash with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty flavoursome stuff. Tastee.

Cask. Rutland Arms, Sheffield. Nearly black. Bubbly, pale tan head. Lots of juicy hop. Dark fruit. Caramel malt background. Taste is juicy bitter. Light sweetness. Chewy, lightly oily palate. Gentle bitter finish. Good. (This is basically a new version of Nycto Black. But more refined, I reckon).
