Clean, crisp and perfectly balanced describes this classic bitter, crafted using pure mineral water and home grown ingredients. A traditional pale ale rich in malt, fruit and biscuit character, complemented by a satisfying bitter finish.

Firstly this is a bitter. Good blackcurrants profile. Nice usage of Bramling Cross. Lots of strawberries and blackcurrants Gd yeast esters

Cask @ Crosse Keys, Chester [220314] [From memory as notes lost]
Amber, clear, thin dense white head
Aroma of slight caramel, little on the nose
Taste of soft caramel, hint of biscuit, slight bitter hop, a bit bland
Palate - Fairly light body, light bitter, light sweet. Finish as main flavour, clean finish.
Overall - This was a disappointment considering itโs history as a great ale in the past. I tried a second half to re-rate and came to the same conclusion. Itโs made for clean, easy drinking, but comes across as rather bland....if I see this again iโll re-rate with a full pint

Cask @ The Dolphin, Shrewsbury. Pours golden amber with cool citrus and some noticeable caramel malts. Ok, but really need another on a clean palette for a proper rating.

Cask @ The Glebe, Stoke. Syrupy gold with massive white head. Doesnโt quite clear. Aroma a bit weak for me, and slightly sulphurous. Taste is and sweet. Bitter/sour edges diminish slightly but do not overtake the sweetness in the finish. A good pint and a taste of history.

Appearance: Deep golden color with a fine white head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Dominating caramel malty and a bit fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Dominating caramel malty and some fruity notes
Overall impression: A little bit better than the average handpull bitters you normally get served.
Personal stats: On tap at Coopers Tavern in Burton-on-Trent, England.
