Denmark, Aug-Sept 2009. Great to find such a great beer in great price and wide availability at least to it’s country. I wish we had somethign similar in Greece. Black with tiny brown head. Roasted malta aroma, coffee, chocolate. Similar taste. VEry enjoyable,

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget. Black liquid with big, thick tan head. Smells of smoke, dark chocolate, licorice, roasted malt, coffee and dark fruits. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with smoke, licorice and coffee. Medium bodied with OK carbonation and quite smooth mouthfeel. This beer has great balance and is really enjoyable. The smokiness makes it a bit special, in a good way.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget on September 1 and consumed on September 5. Pours a black liquid with a rather thin beige head. Carbonation is apparent with lots of small fizzy bubbles being visible in the glass. Smell is sweet and chocolaty with some hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, malty and with a touch of liquorice that quickly gives way for a pleasantly dry and bitter aftertaste filled with roasted malts, hops, chocolate and some metal.

Bottle @ Home. Pours black with a creamy tan head, leaving nice lacings. Aroma of raosted malt, light smoke, licorice. Taste is hard roasted malt, coffee, english licorice, some smoke, notes of dark bitter chocolate. Full body, nice quite high level of carbonation. Very nice Baltic porter, and allthough brewed by a macro brewery stands heads and shoulders to most microbrews. By far the best value for money beer to be bought in Denmark. 290511

Opaque black beer. Smooth palate, frothy in the mouth. Roasty malt that manages to stay the right side of being dry and bitter. Smooth minerally finish with a little carbonated sting. Gets a little sweeter towards the end.

Bottle. Deep opaque brown/black body, thick, clumping, dense light brown head. Dry, smoky nose with abundant soy, in addition to sawed wood and licorice. Dry body, smoky and salty with notes of squid ink, licorice, and bacon. An interesting beer, meaty and rich with modest complexity.

0,33 l. bottle from Irma-supermarket. Very dark brown colour, with a thick tan head. Impressive malt aroma, with smoke, vanilla and coffee. Long lasting laceing. Medium body and bitterness from the burnt malt, oliy texture. Finish is long and pleasent. Excellent price - taste ratio, at just 10 DDK/1,30 EUR this is a really good deal - better than 4 times more expensive beers. Bravo Thy Brewhouse!
