Keg at the CP&K, 13/03/15. Dark mahogany brown with a moderate beige covering. Nose is Cadburys Wholenut, light spice, dark fruit tones. Taste comprises rich roast malt, trace of spice, chocolate biscuit, touch of red fruit, charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough imperial porter, drinks under the ABV.

Keg at Craft Clerko. It pours pitch black with a thick tan head. The nose is bitter-sweet, rich roast, dark chocolate, charred wood, mild smoke, light dark fruits. The taste rather bitter upfront, rich roast, deep espresso coffee, charred wood, burnt toast, umami, pepper, liquorice and cocoa with a lingering bitter-roasty finish. Gets pretty dry after a while. Fulsome body and moderate carbonation. A touch too drying perhaps, but good nonetheless.

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is lightly crispy, minerally carbonation. The dark malts are comparatively thin, with roast and coffee bitterness. Trace of citric hops. Thin malt cream before a fairly bitter and crispy finish. Long strong bitter linger. Definite candidate for the bitter bastard award.
