Cask at Grove, Huddersfield - Mucky unappealing blackish brown sludge coloured body, no head. Nose is roasted malts, the expected hit of chilli, smokiness with coffee and liquorice notes. The taste is warming, due to both the spices and alcohol, a bit like chilli-chocolate. Still spicy on the way out. Just shows, looks can be deceiving.

Cask. Mr. Foleys, Leeds. Clear, treacle brown. Dense tan head. Chilli chocolate. Dark fruits. Savoury smoke. Some vegetable water. Taste is spicy dry. Palate is soft and sticky. Light burn. Smooth. Finishes spicy dry, and light bitter. Tasty!

Cask, handpump at The Sparrow Bier Cafe, Bradford, Friday 20th February 2015 Pours dark brown with barely a head. Pleasant warmth from the chipolte, a little spicy mhhh..a decent porter, the chipolte is the key thing here, but it is a little smoky and warming. Not an awful lot else to report on with this beer, that said it’s very nice. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Manchester Beer Festival 2015. Black with a frothy off-white head. It’s smoked throughout as well has having a dominant hot spice, although this combination doesn’t quite compliment each other in this ale. There’s some chocolate and orange in here too.
