Cask @ Shrewsbury Hotel JDW, Shrewsbury [280115]
Dark amber, clear, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft caramel, sweet soft fruits, some red berries, nothing else
Taste of caramel, soft sweet fruity malts, touch of peach, soft hopping, getting a hint of tea, a bit dull
Palate - Medium body, soft sweet. Finish is slightly dry, light bitter zest, soft fruity malts
Overall - Found this a bit dull for an Adnams beer. Came across as rather average.

On cask at JDW in Holywell, North Wales - Clear amber body, decent white foam that laces all the way through. Nose is rich and malty, with the taste following suit as well. Good body on it, nice little effort this one.

On cask @ the Standing Order. Appearance - nice amber with lovely fluffy head. Nose - dry red fruits and gentle grapefruit too. Taste - more red fruits with a biscuit edge that’s just lurking. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a well made beer and moreish.

Cask pint in my local Wetherspoons on 19th Jan 2015. Good looking deep amber/brown body with an off-white head. Malts all the way here, toffee and nuts with a mild spicy hint or two. Pleasant, if like me you prefer the maltier brews.

Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading. Copper with a thick white head and a very light fizz. Sweet caramel up front, metallic in an un-Adnams-like way, some leafiness and lemon, a growing spiciness and then a moderately bitter finish. Disturbing hint of fungus in the aftertaste, although that may have emanated from the old fellow at the next table. Not one of Adnams’ best collabs this.
