330ml bottle from the beer hive. Pours black, medium tan head. Aromas of cherry & chocolate brownies. Cranberries in chocolate-covered muesli bars (I don?t like them much, by the way). Bit sweet on the taste, and strangely thin. Sour cherry notes at the end. Value for money - if that?s what you were looking for - or maybe just accurately priced? Having said that, going on the (purely subjective) feeling of how my legs and basic reaction times are, I don’t feel like I’ve just drunk a bottle of 12% beer.

Bottle thanks to Ben H. It pours jet black with gigantic tan head. The nose is sweet black forest gateaux, sweet roast, earth, dark chocolate, fruit compote, toasty and light spice. The taste is bitter-sweet, cherry, black forest gateaux, mild fruity tartness, cocoa, juicy, light acidity, dried fruits, with a dry, sweetish finish. Full body and high, foamy carbonation. Easy going.

Bottle shared at the Kernel - big thanks to Ben. Pours black with an immense frothy brown head. The nose has a good bit of charred malt, tangy dark cherries, tar. Medium sweet flavor with some bready malts, smoke, cocoa, burnt earth, dried berries. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation. Only light warmth on the finish with well toasted bread, some juicy cherry and berry, milk chocolate, leather, earth. Not bad.
