Start Point is part of a pair of IPAs within our IPA project. Following on from two of our favourite beers from last year, The Bell Rock pair, we wanted to brew two IPAs with the difference being a higher ABV and more hops in one of the IPAs.
Start point is the lower ABV version but it still packs a fruity punch, with plenty of lovely flavours form the simcoe hops bursting through.
Start Point is a lighthouse located on Sanday Island in the Orkney Isles.
Hops: Perle, Appolo, Chinook, Simcoe
Malt: Maris Otter Extra Pale Malt, Torrified Wheat

Cask at CBC Tottenham Court Road - London. Pours clear yellow with a big, white froth topping. Decent stuff, with some dry dough, lemony hops. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; fair condition. Pretty well balanced on the finish with pale bready sweetness, a bit of lemon rind, mild citrus pith. Not bad.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden. It pours clear golden with a small beige head. The nose is fresh, pine needles, grass and citrus peel. The taste is bitter-sweet, raw bitterness, resin, peppery, citrus peel, hay, varnish and pine needles with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nice hopped-up golden.
