Cask at The Guildford. Pours clear brown, thin off-white head. Aromas are citrus, tropical fruit and caramel. Taste is bitter. Light fruitiness following. Medium body, oily texture. I honestly think this would be better kegged. Needs mair spritz. Good though.

Cask (Fitzgeralds, Sunderland) - Amber in colour. Raisins, caramel and pine in the aroma. Grapefruit, raisins, caramel and dried apricot all feature in the taste. Easy to drink for the abv.

Hand-pulled half-pint in ’Chequers’ Oxford during a pub crawl on 23rd Nov 13. The body was amber/brown with a slight red hue, on top a beige head of creamy foam. The nose was malty with wood and fruit overtones. The taste was also on the malty side and again, like the aromas had both fruit and wood hints within the flavours. Hop finish, but not too bitter or harsh, yet you knew it was there. Overall I thought it a good and different brew, don’t know enough about US Amber Ales to comment on if it was following a style or not.

Cask at the Clachan. It pours deep amber with a small beige head. The nose is wood, earth, fruity, caramel, jam and bubblegum. The taste is wood, earth, caramel, toasty, spice, dark fruit and resin with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Good bitterness. A decent amber ale by all accords.
