Introducing Bighorn: the first seasonal brew developed in our micro-brewery for full UK distribution.
The beer is made from a mixture of UK and American hops, taking its name from a breed of sheep found in the Rocky Mountains.
A full-flavoured Anglo American IPA (4.5% abv) featuring both UK and American hops. It’s very different to anything else we’ve brewed. It has floral aroma, citrus fruit, raisins and malt; an initially sweet taste followed by complex fruitiness and a dry, bitter finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2016. Amber in colour, with a slight, white, head. Aroma of sweetish, hedgerow fruits, with a touch of leafy hop. Flavour had sweetish, biscuity, malts, more fruit and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

On cask up the White Lady. Appearance - golden with a nice creamy head. Nose - lemon and pale malt. Taste - orange or lime. Dry astringent pithy finish. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - it grows on me. A bit astringent.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Golden amber with a tight cream head; malty aroma with some bitter herbal hops; a soft grainy body with a bitter orange marmalade taste; and then a dry finish with more marmalade. Pretty good.

Cask handpull at the crosse keys. Mid orange / amber coloured pour witja lasting thin off white head. Aroma is subdued nutty malts, little spicy English hop, Yorkshire yeast. Flavour is composed of grassy hop matter, nutty malts, considerable English yeast esters. Harsh bitter hops. Palate is medium to low bodied, decent cask condition, slightly grainy. OK. Lingering leafy vegetal hop.

Cask half-pint in my local Wetherspoons on 10th March 2016. Clean amber pour, the head a full off-white crown that stayed around. Malty lead in both the nose and taste with the hops coming through later in the aroma and flavour to give a decent and balanced brew that had a slight fruity undertone and a mildly bitter finish.

Cask at Inn on Beach, Hayling Island, 18th April 14. Hoppy bitter, some sour notes, good malting. Advertised as an IPA, which of course it is not, none the less a nice bitter
