This bock-style beer, brewed again especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival, is rich chestnut in colour, with its blend of malts providing plenty of malty sweetness, balanced by spicy, floral hop notes throughout.

Cask-conditioned at the WG Grace (JDW), Bristol, February 2014. Amber with a slight, off-white head.c Sweet, caramel and red berry fruits, with a big slug, of Wadworth’s in-house yeasty, pear drop character. Indifferent stuff.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis, Twickers, 29/03/14, JDW Spring 2014 Fest Beer #9. Clear golden with light reddish hues topped with a good sized off white covering. Nose is light pine, biscuit malt, caramel, fruit rind, red grapefruit, light spice. Taste falls away a little when contrasted to the semi-tropicana and spice on the nose, biscuit, more subdued red grapefruit, light toasty, citric notes, straw. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stuff.
