The Asturias region produces 80% of the Sidra in Spain, and the Asturian summer is something to behold. The skies are clear and blue, the cafes full, and Sidra reigns supreme. Afternoon drinking under those blue skies leads to long nights of music, dancing and of course, more Sidra. Virtue's Sidra de Nava is more tart than the dry ciders of England or funky cidre from France. Its lemony nose and bracingly tart dry finish are a happy intersection of cider, dry white wine and fresh squeezed lemonade. It's the most refreshing of drinks, pure sunshine in a glass.

Bottle at WTF 3. Pours a cloudy yellow with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is rubber, oak, citrus. Thin body, apple, oak, nice tartness, very good.

On tap @ Proletariat. A blurry paleish looking one with a quickly sidesticking bright white head. Smells really good. Lots of dryness in the nose. Wood, dust, small yellow sourish apples. Like it. Yeah, tastes lovely. It has a really tasty acidity this! Also some sweetness for balance, but it's definitely on the acidic sour path this cider. Good small prickling bubbles in a near oily texture. Lots of nice apply acidic flavors in this. Cork and musk. Super dry finish. Nice and really refreshing. 19.06.2015

Bottle thanks to Adam! Pours a clear water with a yellow tinge and no head whatsoever. Aroma has a good amount of acid with a tart apple backbone. Flavor has lots of tart apples that finishes with a good amount of sourness and a hint of pear.

Cloudy light apple juice colour. Appley, skins, maybe a bit of wood? Assertive tartness, with lively acidity late - it’s almost acetic, which is a bit problematic but on the other hand is unique. The way to cut the acetic off the palate is to have a little lacto before. This works, trust me.

On tap at One-Eyed Betty’s in Ferndale. Pours an almost clear straw. Sour white grape aroma, with even a hint of ketchup. Flavor is also sour white grape, sugary but dry, maybe some tart apple. I just love this.

Bottle. Poured vigorously yields some white fizz over a mostly clear pale hued body (much more clear than most Spanish ciders that I have had). Aromas are fruity and lactic with light notes of white wine vinegar. Quite floral, dried fruit and tea like ester notes. Delicate, white wine. Flavors are tart, with a slightly young brett character (cheerios). Acid character is moderately acetic, but not horribly so. No nail polish or or any other ester-ized acetic qualities. Mild barrel character. Overall enjoyable, but not quite what I would expect. Definitely a lot less chlorophenolic notes (plastic, bandaid and burnt rubber) than some authentic Spanish Sidras. Medium carbonation with a dry finish. Not bad.

Draft at Jimmy43’s during their cider sessions event. Served in a undersized wine glass. :(

Hazy, dull, sparkling, pale straw color.
Smells starchy & lemony. Table wine. Non-descript apples. Not really funky.
Taste is a very basic & refreshing lactic. Lemonly, acidy apples. Juicy & prickly, almost like turned orange juice. Not much apple character. Body isn’t as thin as sidra I’m familiar with, but nor is it laced with most of those familiar ugly phenols. Carbonation is a bit bold.

A bit boring, but easily thirst quenching. It isn’t sidra, but it could easily be better than that with some tweaks.

Tap into goblet at Longman & Eagle. Comes to me with no head a pale, yet cloudy, straw color. Cannot see through it but it glows. Aroma has decent mix of sweet apple and some light tartness and funk. Its fine but a lot of apple juice more so than alcoholic cider. Flavor again has some musty apple, some light tart qualities but generally a sweet/cheap cider feel. Nothing like the good Spanish ciders I have tried. Generally, not ineresting.
