Cask at Bartons Arms, Birmingham on 28th December 2013. Copper with loose off-white foam. Spicy and grassy aromas with bicuit malts and touch of smoke. Exquisite smokiness and grassiness in-mouth; delicate grapefruit citrus late. Finish is delicately bitter, citric and grassy with the grapefruit note first to fade leaving a satisfying lingering bitterness. Superb.

Cask at the Old Fountain. It pours clear amber with medium beige head. The nose is earthy, skunky, grass, pine, toffee, urine and citrus. the taste is bitter-sweet, pine, skunky hops, good deal of bitterness, caramel, varnish, wood polish, earth, grapefruit and orange peel with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Good depth of flavour. Another example of why Oakham are kings of cask ale. Delicious.
