On keg at the Small Bar, Bristol, December 2013. Dark brown with a hint of red and decent, frothy, off-white head. Pleasant, raspberry, plain chocolate and roasted malts, with some vanilla oak and dryish finish. Excellent.

Keg at Draft House Charlotte - London. Pours rich brown with a large, tan froth head. Sour dark malts in the nose with whispers of tangy raspberry and a bit of torched wood. Light sweet flavor with good raspberry notes, light dry cocoa, a bit of earth and bitter burnt wood. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately tangy dark malts in the finish with subtly funky and jammy raspberries and bramble fruits, mild bittersweet chocolate, background roasted malts, a bit of dry and burnt barrel. Good stuff. Well balanced with deep nuances.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Raspberries evident on the aroma, alongside chocolate and vanilla. Taste has a lactic sour note, with coffee bitterness coming through. Medium bodied, creamy texture, long, tasty finish. Very nice.

Keg at Draft House Charlotte, Goodgestreetville, Londinium - 30/10/13. Pitch black with a thin tan covering. Nose is bramble berries, dark malts, earthy cocoa, raspeberry compote. light metallic nip, boozey Black Forest gateux notes. Taste comprises light roast, tangy tartetned berry fructis, light mineral bite, earthy chocolate, slightly lactic raspberry tang, charred wood light. Medium bodied, a little over carbed for my liking slightly prickly, berry fruit tang in the finale. Solid enough stout but had expected more, certainly doesn’t improve upon the base beer for me.

Keg at Indymanbeercon 2013. It pours darkest brown (near black) with a small light tan head. The nose is light roast, toast, charred wood, dark fruits, whisky and spice. The taste is crisp, tart, sour raspberry, roasted malt, toast, earth, light lactic notes, wood, whisky, medicinal notes and vinous aspect with a dry, lightly tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Works well due to the balance. Rather quaffable.
