Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol, October 2013. Amber with a decent, off-white head. A malty brew with not much by way of hops, and a decent bitter finish. fine.

Cask @ Edwin Waugh, Heywood. Reddish-brown with a small creamy head. Has a sweetened malt aroma and a lovely smooth texture that contains some excellent malts.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Smooth palate, quite soft. Good fine carbonation. Light dry twiggy malt. Light dried fruits. Light dry finish. Standard stuff but fine.

Cask at the Kings Highway, Inverness, 18/10/13. Clear dark amber with a good sized off white head - a handsome beer. Nose is malt forward, toffee, fruit tang, bready malts. Taste comprises fruit cake, light nana, yeast notes, dark fruit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish with light bitterness. In good shape. Another good looker and good on the palate, aroma and taste ok but nothing too exciting.

Cask @ The Standing Order, Edinburgh [241013]
Caramel brown, dense off white head
Aroma of caramel malts, touch of toasted malts, hint of chocolate, slightly spicy cereal
Taste of caramel malts, some soft fruity malts, dryish cereal, touch of chocolate, bit of an odd roast cereal in here but it’s ok overall
Palate - Medium body, oily, bit sticky. Finish - quite dry bitter cereal, dab of cerealy chcolate
Overall - Not the greatest Adnams beer, but did have an unusual note of its own. Will re-rate to see if it’s to do with condition

Cask handpull at Willow Walk Spoons. Deep brown colour lasting beige head. Now for a 5% beer it actually has less flavour than some of the lower abv beers. Some toasty malt on the aroma soem fruit im the mouth some dryness on the finish. Ok but pretty forgettable.
