A tremendous amount of dark malt gives this a lush, silky mouth feel balanced with just a kiss of Summer hops. Whereas the previous batch was partially aged on oak, this batch is 100% stainless steel.

Can shared. Pours near black with a small beige head. Aroma of malt, toffee, caramel, licorice, a little overripe dark fruit and chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Coffee and fudge coming out in the palate. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.

500 ml. can sampled @ Maldegem tasting. Thanks to Mathieu87 & PriorL. About one year old I suppose – cellar as recommended apparently. Black little mocha head. Nose is aamazing, super thick & sweet creamy chocolate with light roast & huge pine resin bitterness, amazing hops & perectly creamy chocolate body,… An amazing BIPA basically which is interesting given the age of this. Taste is hugely creamy chocolate, melted chocolate, very creamy, sweet, leading into amazing perfect balanced pine resin hops bitter, light roast, faint sweetness,… Crazily creamy & lush. Easily my favourite The Alchemist beer, amazing, give me this instead of Heady Topper – out of 5 beers that I have tried by them so far Heady Topper remains my least favorite to be honest.

Can - Nice roast, dark chocolate, hazelnuts and some sweet booze. Deep jet brown with a nice brown head. Tastes just as it smells with a long roasty finish with a touch of boozy heat.
