Oude Kriek De Cam is an oude kriek released sporadically in 375ml and 750ml bottles and is labeled 6.5% ABV. De Cam Oude Kriek is primarily available in Europe. Schaerbeekse cherries from the farms of Karel Goddeau's family are used when they are available, however Polish cherries provided by Frank Boon are used when they are not available.

2002 bottle shared by Rastacouere at the Mondial Ratebeer tasting, 6/4/05. Shining raspberry-cherry red colored body and a pink-tinged-white head fizzles away to a small ring. Pale pink/cream on the edges of the glass. Nose is tart and sour, you can smell the old musty, acidic cherry notes. Light barnyard funk as well; wool clothes kept in the closet on a hot summer day. Flavor is mint and vanilla with a short finish following a cherry mixed with lacto acidity at the start. Flavorful, real sour cherries are tremendously flavorful. Light grainy malt provides body, soft cheesey hops are evident. Definitely old, funky and sour. Mouthfeel is soft, with a low, easygoing natural carbonation. Very dry here, no cheap sugaring agents in this. My biggest complaint, after the wonderfully authentic start, is the relatively short finish, with not much flavor lingering.

(Bottle 37,5 cl) The amazing Café Plan B in Copenhagen started importing several Belgian lambic-beers. I got to sneak a peak into their excellent beer-cellar and found a.o. this one from "De Cam". Very rose color. Even the head, which is very fizzy due to the high pressure in the bottle. Classic and completely un-sweetened "Kriek" with the traditional sensation of vinegar. The cherries add more color than aroma. The flavor almost disappears in the sourness. 020704

2002 bottle. Sour aroma with a hint of cherries. Nice deep red colour. Acidic flavour with some cherry notes.

Bloody bright red note. Very fruity. Very tart, with a nutty finish. Huge lambic goodness - full flavour, fairly clean, nutty and very refreshing.

Cloudy pink color, short head. Aroma is tart, fruity krieken, oak wood. Sweet kriek taste, some tartness, nice balance. Sour palate.

Bottled. Cloudy bright red. with small pink head. Ripe cherries struggle to overpower grassy hops in th earoma. Initial syrupy cherry sweetness is turned into burning citric acidity. Clean mouthfeel. Well crafted, but lacks the sparkling, lively mouthfeel of the top examples of the style.

Hazy, red (like blood) body. Lots of carbonisation. Pinkish head which disappears instantly. heavily sour cherry aroma (probably from "Schaarbeekse krieken" (a sour cherry-variety). It (the aroma) has a strong resemblance with the aroma of the Cantillon Kriek. The flavour however is a little bit less sour than the Cantillon’s. Moderately sour initial flavour. Moderately sour, lightly sweet and fruity long finish. Quite soft mouthfeel, little bit fizzy. This is one of the best Krieks I ever tasted.

Explosive bottle; cloudy red color; big pink head. Nice aroma, of ripe cherries, and light aroma of kernels. Very uncommon mouthfeel, astringent and sour, but thin body; lemon juice, almost no cherries, no sweetness.

[Mine was an Oude Kriek] An unclear red beer with no head. the aroma is sweet cherries. The flavor is dominated by cherries and wood and only slightly sour. It has a very dry and somewhat sour end.
