Bottle (from Ales by Mail). Hazy orangeish brown colour with a mediumsized off-white foamy head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is ginger, some raisins and mild vanilla and wood. Flavour is ginger, raisins, some alcohol sweetness with mild wood, vanilla and some herbal tones. Lots of ginger and wood in the aftertaste.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours golden amber, can’t taste the whisky, lots of ginger, bit soapy.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival, Nov 14. Pours gold with slight haze. Aroma is strong whisky and restrained ginger. Taste is very boozy, with clear whisky notes and possibly even a little vodka alcohol in there? Ginger is present too but very subtle. Not my thing I have to say.

Bottled. ABM. 6.1%. Dark murky brown-amber color, good off-white head. Aroma of ginger beer and fermented raisins. Medium-bodied. Ginger, raisins and some alcohol, hints of wood in the flavor. Tickling ginger. Harsh aftertaste. Weird ginger beer indeed.

Hazy amber beer, tidy off white head. Light palate, minerally crisp and semi dry. Nice ginger, fresh and tasty with just a little heat. Nice mellow whisky offset. There is even a little vanilla wood under the ginger and the minerals. Finishes light and dry. Some ginger heat in the aftertaste. Really quite good!

Bottle at CGarvie tasting. It pours hazy golden with a thin off-white head. The nose is ginger, liquid hand soap, fiery spice, lemonade and perfume. The taste is soap, earth, ginger, lemon, hand-wash, subtle whisky and spicy ginger beer with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Odd, but I don’t actually mind it. Reminiscent of ginger & lemon tea.
